Good afternoon,
In literacy, we worked on the OI and OY sounds. We also did story mapping of The Three Little Pigs. In science, we needed to build a home that would be strong enough to stop the big bad wolf. Students also added neat features to their homes such as fences, slides, balconies, and even security cameras! That wolf doesn't stand a chance! In math, we explored 2D shapes and 3D objects. Students got to build models of 3D objects. We learned the words faces, edges, and vertices. We also continued working on subtraction skills using a number line.
Reminders
- On Wednesday, students received a letter home with instructions to collect supplies and information for our social studies unit about the past and our families. This unit will have lots of involvement, as we are exploring our personal pasts and changes in our family. Thank you so much for taking the time to complete this with your child to support their learning! There will be more information needed as part of next week's homework assignment.
- We are looking for volunteers for our field trip to Ralph Klein Park on May 16. Please email me if you are available!
- We also need volunteers for Tuesday from 10:00-11:30 am! PLEASE email me!
