HOMEWORK SEPTEMBER 27-OCTOBER 1

Here is the homework for Sept 27-Oct 1. Everyone is doing a great job so far of printing on the lines and using upper and lower case letters correctly. Keep up the great work!

NEW LINK: The math link in the homework file is not working so please click HERE to try another activity.

HOMEWORK SEPTEMBER 20-23

Home will be due on THURSDAY, as there is no school on Friday. Please ensure you complete all tasks in the document, as many students were missing spelling practice. In the document, I have numbered all tasks. Please make sure you complete all 5 tasks with your child. Click HERE for the homework document.

HOMEWORK SEPTEMBER 13-17

Click HERE for the first homework assignment. Please read it through carefully before engaging in the learning tasks with your child. You can print the printing and math pages OR have your child practice in their homework book, which they will receive tomorrow at school. Please refer to the detailed instructions in the homework file.

READING: On the inside front cover of your child's homework book, you will find their log-in for our Raz-Kids reading program. You can download the app to tablets/phones. Search Raz Kids, and download the app called "Kids A-Z." Then, use the teacher username and log-in information to access books and begin reading!

MATH: You will notice another log-in card on the inside of your child's homework book. This is for Mathletics, however, we are NOT using it this week. Please do the math assignment in the homework file above.

SPELLING: Below, you will see an example of what the spelling practice should look like.

IMPORTANT: You will notice dots and X's on the lines. To support your child's fine motor development and spatial awareness when writing, please also follow the DOT DOT X pattern. You can see that lower case letters use one space (unless they are tall), and capital letters are always two spaces tall. Please use an X to show students which lines to write on. You can also highlight the whole X line if you find that your child has difficulty staying on the correct line.

REMINDER

To support your child's fine motor development and spatial awareness when writing, please also follow the DOT DOT X pattern (below is the example from the first week). You can see that lower case letters use one space (unless they are tall), and capital letters are always two spaces tall. Please use an X to show students which lines to write on. You can also highlight the whole X line if you find that your child has difficulty staying on the correct line. In grade 1, it is crucial that students develop fine motor skills and an awareness of lines on a page. This is a major focus in TLC.
