Happy Friday!
Our first week of grade 1 was a success! We are getting used to routines and learning how to cooperate with others. We are also learning how to be responsible for our supplies. Today Mrs. Hawkins came into our classroom to teach us health. Mrs. Hawkins will also be our Music teacher.
REMINDERS
- Homework will begin on Sept 13. You will find the file under the Homework tab. It will be due on Friday, Sept 17. We will also have a spelling test that day.
- I am still missing a few students' paperwork. Please ensure that you have completed this and send it to school with your child.
- Please continue to pack your child's snack in a separate container from their lunch, as this makes transitions times much faster, and it is clear to your child which food is for lunch and which is for a snack.
- If possible, please also show your child how to open containers and bottles in their lunch bag. Adults are able to help children with this, however, if they can do it on their own, they can have more time to eat and less waiting time!
- There is NO SCHOOL on Monday, as it is a holiday.
- If your child has shoelaces, please practice tying shoelaces at home. Students need to do this independently.
MEET THE TEACHER
Please mark your calendar for Thursday evening to Meet your child's teacher and find out what is happening in the classroom. You have been provided the Google Meet sign-in information, along with your child's password on the dark yellow form that was sent home in the Welcome Back package. Please use that account to join your child's teacher at 6:30pm on September 9 ONLINE. You will have an opportunity to listen to your teacher about some important class information and ask some questions. If you have a second child in the school, you will have an opportunity to join that classroom at 7pm where the teachers will be providing the same information they did at 6:30. In the event that you have 3 or more children in the school, please attend the 2 meetings for your youngest students and then email any other teachers to ask for information you may have missed. You can also designate a different parent to attend different sessions if needed.
